Colombian eWallets: Providing Rural Producers Access to Innovative Digital Banking

How do you incentivize a large-scale, traditional bank to access new clients in rural areas? How can you introduce small-scale farmers to digital currency?

The USAID/Colombia Rural Finance Initiative (RFI) has partnered with Davivienda, the second largest bank in Colombia, to catalyze value chain financing through digital services with Daviplata eWallet. RFI and Davivienda are incorporating eWallet in value chain financing by providing electronic loans, savings accounts, insurance, transfers and payments. Come learn about this innovative partnership, and how digital services result in a cost-effective, sustainable approach to improving banking access for rural farmers and producers within agricultural value chains.
